Tarot Reading FAQs

  • Tarot is a spiritual practice that uses tarot or oracle cards to access wisdom and guidance from our Higher Selves, the subconscious mind, and Spirit (divine consciousness). A typical tarot deck is divided into two parts: the major arcana and the minor arcana. The major arcana represents significant life themes and archetypal experiences, often connected to major turning points in our lives. In contrast, the minor arcana reflects everyday situations and is organized into four suits—Wands, Swords, Cups, and Pentacles—each symbolizing different facets of life. The Tarot serves as a powerful tool for self-exploration, helping uncover our innermost desires, motivations, and needs.

During a tarot reading, I also connect with you on a psychic level, allowing me to tune into your energy and gain deeper insight into the cards, enhancing the clarity and depth of the reading.

  • At the start of each reading, I’ll ask if there’s a specific question, life event, or situation you’d like to explore. Based on your focus, I’ll choose the most appropriate layout or spread for the session. As we move through the reading, I’ll explain what each card’s position signifies, interpret its number and suit, and connect its meaning to your specific inquiry. Throughout the process, I may draw additional clarifying cards to receive deeper insight and guidance from Spirit.

As the sitter or querent, it’s important to strike a balance when sharing information with the reader during your reading. Providing too much detail or backstory can unintentionally influence the reading, while offering too little may result in vague or incomplete information. A thoughtful balance of input helps create space for the reading to unfold naturally and reach deeper layers of truth and understanding.

  • The wonderful thing about Tarot is that it can be used to answer practically any question you have! However, I do typically advise against "yes" or "no" questions. Instead, try to formulate your concerns in an open-ended manner, such as, "Is it in my best interest to…," or "What is the likely outcome if..."

Keep in mind, the more specific your question is, the easier it will be to answer. It's also perfectly fine if you don't have a specific question to ask, but would prefer a more general life path reading. Typically, I will ask Spirit to give us a specific theme for those types of readings.

Below are some examples of topics you may want to address:

    • Relationships & love

    • Career & finances

    • Schooling/training pursuits

    • Life path & life planning

    • Spiritual path

    • Finances and career

    • The best/most aligned action to take next

    • Timing for a specific event

    • Overcoming fears and obstacles

    • Pros and cons between 2 or 3 specific choices

    • Help with bad habits, unwanted behaviors, or mindset

  • Absolutely not! Tarot is a way of reading the energy surrounding the most likely outcomes or timelines—it is not a set-in-stone prediction. It serves as a guiding tool to help you reflect, make informed decisions, and consciously shape your path forward. While the cards may offer valuable insight, you are never bound by what they suggest. Ultimately, you are the one in control of your choices, your actions, and your future.
